As we age, our surface level skin cell turnover slows down causing our skin to appear dull and dry along with other visible signs of aging. Chemical peels go deep beneath skin’s surface, beyond what topical treatments can reach, targeting the dermis. Reaching this layer of the facial’s skin structure stimulates collagen production, speeds up cell migration and remodels skin’s outward appearance. This process allows the skin to appear revitalized not only because it’s removed skin cell buildup but stimulates the cell turnover to be more productive.
About Chemical Peels
What to expect: You’ll meet with one of our licensed nurse injectors for a consultation to develop a treatment plan together, incorporating your identified concerns and your nurse injectors evaluation of your skin. Together, you’ll choose a peel level best suited for you.
"Go & Glow" our lightest peel, with virtually little to no downtime. Perfect to do before a special event to boost radiance and smooth skin texture.
"Active" our medium strength peel specifically designed for individuals who's main concern is addressing blemishes, with 1-3 days peel downtime.
"Advanced Corrective" our most advanced peel, for clients looking for a deeper exfoliation addressing scarring, texture, and pigmentation, with 5-7 days peel downtime.
It’s recommended to pair a peel with dermaplaning to assist with removing the top layer of dead skin cells and hair to allow the peel to penetrate deeper. Your nurse injector will help recommend medical grade skin care items available to take home to help assist in accelerating, as well as maintaining, results between treatments.
Downtime: Downtime varies with each level of peel. For a shorter downtime, choose a milder peel. For accelerated results, or after trying a milder peel first, clients might choose a stronger deeper peel with longer downtime. Along with accelerated results, deeper peels may allow for less treatments per year.
Results: After the peeling period is complete, one may see improvement in dryness, dullness, uneven skin tone, texture, pore congestion, and blemishes. Other benefits include lightening some pigmentation inconsistencies, fine line reduction, and enhancing a healthy glow through increasing hydration levels. Benefits from a peel may last 1-3 months depending on peel level, paired products, sun and other variable levels of environmental stressor exposure.
Additional info: When done regularly, clients can achieve improvement in a variety of skin concerns. Consider a treatment every 4-6 weeks to maintain/improve skin concerns and the youthful glow achieved through peels. Pairing you medical grade peels with medical grade skincare can assist in accelerating results as well as maintaining between treatments.
